The CCC explores the Chotek Palace

von Mihaela Nedelcu • Thursday, 11. June 2026

6 years of construction. Heritage protection. Several contractors went out of business due to the pandemic – but the determined team never gave up. That made it even more special that we had the chance to be the first guests on the Belle Étage.

When a building reinvents itself

Owner Lukas Koller and Hotel Director Thomas Duxler shared the long journey behind the Palais – and the question that marks the beginning of every great journey: Where do we actually want to go? And who are the people we need by our side to get there?

The building from 1884 is full of history: noble families, a historic salon, and architectural treasures such as wooden ceilings and an impressive grand staircase. But the renovation came with its challenges. Receptionists, bartenders, and managers helped out on the construction site long before there was even a reception desk. Those who stayed the course are now deeply connected to the DNA of the house – true brand ambassadors and hosts at their very best.

Angstfreude – KI und Unternehmenskultur

We all know this strange feeling of being caught somewhere between excitement and uncertainty. AI is the first tool in history that makes its users more productive and more nervous at the same time. What helps? Creating more room to explore instead of narrowing the frame. This was the topic of an entertaining and insightful talk by Karin Krobath from identifire® and Axel Ebert from wortwelt®.

Irmi, Bon Voyage

This evening also had a moment that went beyond AI and hotel development. We said goodbye to Irmgard Zirkler – an important part of identifire® and wortwelt® for 18 years. She is now heading into a new chapter, filling her “un-retirement” with political community work. Irmi, we wish you exactly what Palais Chotek promises its guests: Arrive. Rest. Bloom.
