Our CCC at AMS and BFI<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

64,000 young people between the ages of 15 and 24 in Austria are currently neither in employment nor in education.<\/strong> They are urgently searching for perspective, direction and a place to belong. The initiative #HiddenPotentials<\/strong> by Heinz Herczeg addresses this personal, social and economic challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this is where our Culture Club Community<\/strong> comes in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of us talk about skills shortages but few are familiar with the institutions, associations and platforms of the AMS\u2013BFI ecosystem<\/strong>. These are the organisations that prepare young adults through company apprenticeships (\u00dcBA) for working life. We met them \u2014 and and they quickly became part of our Culture Club family.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High-Flying Apprentices <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The highlight of the evening: four young adults from Chechnya, India, Germany <\/strong>and Turkey<\/strong> shared their personal journeys, their training experiences \u2014 and their wishes: internship opportunities and, later on, jobs in e-commerce, construction and facilities, electrical engineering <\/strong>and renewable energy. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Clear View of Reality <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

AMS Executive Board Member Petra Draxl<\/strong> and Deputy Managing Director of AMS Lower Austria Karmen Frena<\/strong> painted a clear and data-driven picture of the youth labour market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While public discourse often claims that \u201cyoung people no longer want to work,\u201d the data tells a very different story: one of motivation, commitment and a strong desire to find their place.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cInclusion often only happens once people are already inside. But real inclusion starts by opening doors for those who are still outside,\u201d
says Heinz Herczeg<\/strong> \u2014 and illustrates this mindset with two powerful examples.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

#HiddenPotentials \u2014 BILLA, MAN & BFI Vienna<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Martina Aubke<\/strong> from BILLA<\/strong> showed how inclusive employment creates both human and economic value. Since 2019, BILLA has saved more than \u20ac2 million in compensation levies<\/strong> \u2014 and in 2024 even received a credit. Social responsibility and sound business practices make a strong team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jan-Erik Beerstecher<\/strong> from MAN<\/strong> presented the Clean-Up & Connect<\/em> format, demonstrating how easily accessible encounters can open real opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both organisations cooperate closely with Cristian Nowak<\/strong> from the BFI Vienna Vocational Training Centre<\/strong>, who explained how inter-company apprenticeships give young people guidance, structure and a realistic entry into working life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HR at the Ministry of Social Affairs \u2014 Stability in Times of Change<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The second keynote took us into a world that remains hidden to many:
How does the HR function looks like when the structure of the ministries and the responsible ministers are constantly changing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johanna Kleinfercher-Alberer<\/strong>, Head of HR at the Ministry of Social Affairs, delivered a clear answer:
HR is the foundation of stability \u2014 and it belongs at the decision-making table.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between political headwinds and administrative rigidity, HR builds bridges, holds culture together and ensures people have a clear direction \u2014 even when everything around them is in motion.<\/p>\n
